"This is something I don't think I've ever seen before, Grissom."

Grissom bent over the bodies, looking but not touching. The men were dressed in identical black suits, crisp white shirts and black ties. Each wore a pair of blue latex gloves, the fingertips stained red from the inside. "What happened to them?"

David shook his head. "They bled from the eyes, nose, mouth and," he waved his hand to the gloves, "I think the fingernails. When I get them back to the morgue, I'll probably find internal hemorrhage as well."

"Any other injuries?"

David shook his head. "Not that I've seen."

Grissom stood up and started examining the ground around the bodies. The dirt was packed hard out here in the Nevada desert, but there was a slight, though noticeable, indentation around the bodies, as if they'd been dropped from a height. Pulling on a pair of latex gloves, pressed his finger into the indent. "Two centimeters," he muttered to himself.

Sara crouched beside him. "No tire impressions or footprints anywhere in the general vicinity, except the campers' that found them." She studied the body. "They haven't been out here that long; the decomp isn't advanced."

He nodded his agreement. "If you're going to go to the trouble of dropping a couple of dead bodies in the middle of the desert, why would you drop them near a well-used campsite?"

"Not locals, then."

Grissom shook his head. "Definitely not locals." He stood. "David, let's get these two back to the morgue. Hopefully once we've nailed down cause of death, we can figure out who did this." He looked at Sara. "Ready?"

She smiled. "Always."
