Rogue picked up the bottle of pills and stared at them. The tiny white pills held inside them the capacity to change her life for good, but she'd had them for more than a week, and hadn't yet taken one. She finally admitted to herself that she was scared. The idea of touch was so exciting, so invigorating, so perfect, Rogue was afraid the reality wouldn't live up to her memory. The whisper-light brush of lips against hers, fingers intertwined in study hall, a casual rub in the hallwaysÑthese memories had grown larger than life in her head. Besides, she thought bitterly to herself, who would she touch anyway? She and Bobby had broken up, Johnny was gone, and Logan was in Canada. No one she wanted was within arm's reach.
Rogue put the bottle back into her medicine cabinet.
