I'm a 23 year old who's been writing stories ever since I could hold a pencil. Before that, I made up stories and games and told them to my sisters and friends. My very, very first fandom was the X-Men cartoon; it was also my first experience with role playing. We made up characters (and oh the Sues ten year old girls come up with!) and played Shelby's front yard. I also made up stories centered around the SNES Donkey Kong games.
Soon after, I found the internet. I was about 14 when I got involved in the Redwall fandom, which was huge to me. I wrote several epic stories (none of which were completed) that have since been lost when the main board went down. I almost want to search the Wayback machine for them; but then I remember how bad they were.
In 2000, X-Men the movie was released, and I got pulled back into fandom. I was (am) a rabid Wolverine/Rogue (Logan/Marie) 'shipper, and was a member of the quintessential Yahoo!Group. When that fractured, I followed the BNFs to their new group. I mostly lurked, writing the occasional drabble and the less-than-occasional poem. (Yes, I wrote fandom poetry. I was in highschool, and rereading it, it wasn't that bad. Sosueme.) I read voraciously, and not just W/R. XMMFFA was my friend.
I faded out of fandom in 2003 or so, letting my webpages lapse into oblivion and losing contact with a lot of my fandom friends. In early September, after major prodding by some IRL and online friends, I rented Firefly and promptly fell in love. It didn't take me long to find the huge fandom that is Firefly/Serenity, and I've written a handful of stories for it so far. I became involved in Freedom is What a Firefly Virtual Season project. I also started working on my graphic-making muscles, as my art page shows very well. (My icons aren't great, I know, but they're not terrible.)
I used to RP at Fandom Tropolis. There I play Rogue (X-Men) and River Tam (Firefly). Sadly, the game has fallen apart, and I myself have stopp RP'ing completely.
Outside of fandom, I'm a recent graduate from a Big Ten school. My original plan was to attend law school, but I decided not to, for various reasons. My new plan is to attend nursing school and get my RN. I've already signed up for classes. :) I love CourtTV, Cold Case Files, CSI, Profiler, Murder She Wrote and all crime-related shows. (Except CSI: Miami. I watch it for my CSI fix, but David Caruso just pisses me off whenever he's on screen.) I work as a waitress/bartender at a national chain restaurant, which puts food on the table and stresses me out more than it should. I've struggled with depression for years, but am doing much better of late.
